Literacy Council Begins Tutoring Program at the County Jail

3/15/2018

Working in conjunction with Centreville Schools, the St. Joseph County Literacy Council began an inmate tutoring program at the Centreville County Jail today.  As study after study has shown that those inmates who are released from jail with reading skills have a far less likely chance of returning there, we believe that our program will benefit the county as a whole.  We hope that our program will help inmates become functioning contributing members of communities in St. Joseph County.
